80 Hijri Early Islamic Dirham Damascus (Ref 35).

Stunning condition historic early Islamic silver Dirham made in Damascus. Caliph Abdul Malik bin Marwan (r. 65-86 AH). Year made 80 AH. Absolutely amazing piece of early Islamic history. Some of the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (SA), such as Anas bin Malik (d. 93/94 AH) were still alive when this coin was made. It is in excellent condition with beautiful toning.

Islamic creed "la ilaha il-Allah, wahdahu la sharika lahu" is easily readable in the early Kufic script. Shortened Surah Ikhlas is also visible on the reverse.
